Acapulco, Guerrero.     Local Time is: Central Time

Acapulco is the original Mexican Riviera resort city. With a current population of more than one million, it is a bustling metropolis. Palm covered hills slope down to the beautiful sparkling blue bay.

Beautiful beaches, luxury hotels, discos, shopping plazas, and even restaurants with trilingual menus (many French Canadians come here), highlight the tourist areas along the shore. Inland is a congested city

Water sports of all kinds are popular here. Scuba diving and deep sea fishing are also readily available. It's a 'typical' tropical resort city.

Near Acapulco you can see the famous cliff divers of La Quebrada as they dive 150 feet in a narrow gap in the rocks with just enough water.

Although Acapulco can be expensive, if you go away from the beach areas and look at apartments in the hills above the city, you can find bargain rentals with gorgeous views. They say rents are even less than in Guadalajara, San Miguel and Ensenada. Other prices are comparably low as well, if you get away from the tourist areas.

CLIMATE:
Acapulco's climate is tropical. It remains very warm all year, with very little change in temperature from month to month. As with other tropical destinations, most of the yearly rain falls in the summer, while the winters are nearly rain free.
