GEOGRAPHY:
Most of the coastline is a low lying plain with scrub or jungle. Barrier reefs and islands enclose wonderful diving and snorkeling areas.

CLIMATE:
[Sun/Cloud] The climate is generally tropical. This means that the summers are usually wetter than the winters. The rain falls mainly as short tropical downpours, and most mornings are sunny.

At this time, the only East coast area included in Virtual Mexico is the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea. Beautiful white sand beaches, gorgeous winter weather, and clear waters full of colorful fish, make it a very popular winter resort area. The Isla Mujeres is a popular scuba diving location, as is Isla Cozumel.

Inland can be found many places with Mayan ruins, interesting towns, and the colonial city of Mérida.
