The population is estimated at 80,000 with approximately 5,000 North Americans. San Miguel de Allende also has a new modern hospital operated by a private non-profit association. A number of art schools are found here, and many fine artists reside in San Miguel. Activities/Recreation available: golf, tennis, horseback riding, yoga and dance classes, amateur string quartets, bird watching, duplicate bridge, amateur theater groups, and an American Legion post. There are many other beautiful colonial cities in Mexico, and more will be featured in Virtual Mexico eventually. Among those cities are: Guanajuato, Taxco, Morelia, Tequisquiapan, Querétero, and Puebla. CLIMATE: A wonderful year-round climate is experienced in San Miguel.
